Provide clinic name, address, phone number & email address
Provide patient name, signalment, brief history/reason for CT and if the patient has any metal implants
Provide patient record
You will receive an email confirming the date and time that the CT truck will arrive at your clinic
Patient prep prior to arrival of CT truck:
All dog and cat patients must have an IV catheter in place prior to arrival of CT truck
Sedation or anesthetic protocol is to be determined by the host clinic veterinarian, and this can be discussed with CT veterinarian prior to visit
Head and limb CTs can be performed under sedation
Chest and abdominal CTs require anesthesia
Contrast administration requires anesthesia
Patients receiving contrast must be well hydrated prior to CT truck arrival
The CT truck has isoflurane, oxygen, patient monitoring equipment and emergency drugs on board

When the CT truck arrives:
The host clinic technician and/or veterinarian will help the CT veterinarian bring the patient to the truck
Non-ambulatory patients can be transported to the truck via gurney (provided by CT truck)
Sedation or induction/intubation will be administered by host clinic staff on the CT truck
The host clinic technician will assist the CT veterinarian in positioning and monitoring the patient
The CT scan will take approximately 30 minutes
If sedation is not sufficient to keep the patient immobile during the CT scan, then the patient will need to be anesthetized
The host clinic technician will recover the patient while the CT veterinarian and the host clinic veterinarian review the CT images in the viewing area of the truck
The CT veterinarian will provide a link to the CT study and selected images on a thumb drive to the host clinic veterinarian
A board certified radiologist report will be provided via email within 24 - 48 hours
